General

This digitalSTROM application allows you to set up the Thanos room control unit with the functions you require. The device is assigned to the desired room and the basic functions defined using an installation wizard. Further screen pages with additional functions for controlling color groups in rooms or freely configurable app push buttons can be added later. General settings for the display or alarm tones are available as well.

Please note that it may take some time to transfer the settings to the room control unit. The current status is therefore displayed via a progress display in the status bar. However, the transfer takes place in the background, which means that you can still make changes or close the app.

Preconditions

  1. The software version 1.11.2 at least must be installed on the digitalSTROM server.
  2. The Thanos room control unit must be connected and registered in your installation.

Main View

The main view of this app displays the room control units known in the installation and the screen pages defined for this. If a page is selected, the defined function can easily be checked in the preview.

The 'Edit' function opens the configuration dialog for the selected entry and thus allows the corresponding functions or labeling to be changed. By using the "Add Room-Button"" or "Add App-Button", additional pages can be added. A maximum of 8 pages plus the "Favorites" page are possible per room control unit. The sequence of the pages can be changed as required using the 'Up' and 'Down' arrow keys. Excluded from this are the first three pages for favorites, light and temperature in the assigned room. Any page not required can be deleted via 'Remove page'.

A progress display in the status bar indicates that the changes are being transferred to a room control unit or whether the transfer has been completed (status 'Ready').

Configuration Wizard

When opening this app for the first time, the configuration wizard is opened automatically if a room control unit is connected in your installation. This wizard guides you through the basic configuration of your device in three easy steps.

  1. Step 1: Assign the device to the corresponding room
  2. Step 2: Choose the color groups such as "Light" or "Shade" for which a separate page is to be created in the selected room. If the wizard is executed repeatedly, other pages that have already been configured can be retained or removed.
  3. Step 3: In a favorite page you can summarize the most frequently used functions and thus have fast access to the respective function. In this step, the 7 favorites from all available functions can be selected.

By clicking on "Finish" the defined settings are transferred to the room control unit. Afterwards, additional room and app push-buttons can be added or the device settings can be edited.

Adding or editing room-button

The four presets of a room push button can be added to a page and thus activated directly. In this dialogue the desired room with which the available color groups (light, shade, etc.) are displayed is chosen for the selected device. Afterwards, the desired presets 1-4, 11-14, 21-24, 31-34 or 41-44 can be chosen for the selected color group.

The labelling is applied automatically from the system settings. If you change the names of the presets in the configurator or in the Home Control (Android) or digitalSTROM (iOS) Smartphone app, these are also updated automatically in the Thanos. However, if you want to assign independent names to the presets, the option ‘Keep caption in sync with name of presets' can be disabled. This allows the names of the presets to be freely defined.

If the changes are saved in the dialogue, the transfer of the data to the room control unit starts automatically.

Adding or editing an app-button page

To control any functions in your home, a combination of room presets or user-defined actions can be assigned to so-called app-buttons. In this case, four buttons are defined per page, on which the desired activities are stored.

If a button is selected, one or more activities can be added using 'New activity'. The options here correspond to those of other apps, e.g. the event-responder.

If all buttons are defined, they can be labelled as required.

Once the changes are saved within the dialog, transferring the the data to the room control unit starts automatically.

Editing Favorite Page

To activate the most frequently required functions directly, these are summarized on a favorite page. Here, up to 7 presets or app push buttons from other pages can be combined among these favorites.

This dialogue allows you to select the corresponding function per favorite. The position on the screen is displayed here by the red point on the icon.

If the changes are saved in the dialogue, the transfer of the data to the room control unit starts automatically.
