General

This digitalSTROM application allows you to load presets at predefined times, to control single devices and to execute customized actions. In addition to defined times you can also define sunrise, sunset, dawn, or twilight as time basis. E.g. you can switch on your exterior lighting automatically 30 minutes after sunset and switch it off again at 23:00.

Define your position (country and town) in your digitalSTROM configurator under 'System / System Settings' and your data for sunrise and sunset are set. As an option, you may also define your exact coordinates via a map.

Overview of all timers

Timed events can be set up, edited or deleted as desired. The list view provides you with your saved settings (Name, Initiated Activities, Time, Day and Conditions) at one glance. If a timer is not needed, it can be temporarily deactivated or deleted completely. The function 'Test Timer' executes the initiated actions immediately to test the settings. Conditions will not be considered when testing.

Setting up and editing timers

First enter a name for your timer.
The tab 'Time of Execution' allows you to set the start time either as time (default setting) or event (sunrise, sunset, dawn and dusk). The timed event can start either exactly at this point of time which is calculated on a daily basis for your position or, as an option, a bit earlier or later. You may select the delay in hours and minutes as well as the later or earlier execution. Furthermore you can also define the earliest or latest point of time.
Select the desired weekdays for executing the timed events on a weekly basis or select a specific date.

Every timer may consist of as many initiated activities as necessary at the desired point of time. The activities offer the following options:

Select the desired activity and, if applicable, the desired room, the color group and the preset. Switch to the list of all activities by double clicking the selection in the last column or with a click on 'Show all Activities'. 'New Activity' opens an empty entry form; you may change the selected activity per double click in the list or 'Edit Activity'. By using the arrows to left and right you can simply switch between already defined activities or delete a single activity by using the trash icon.

The execution of timers might be restricted by conditions. For example, a timer might be executed during daylight and when presence only. The following conditions can be defined:

Timers will be executed only if all defined conditions are met.
Important: if shades or awnings are protected by weather sensors, the time-controlled movement must be prevented by using the conditions 'no wind', 'no rain' or 'no hail'. In case wind was set up for dedicated groups, the 'no wind' condition must be selected for this particular group.

Conditions are optional.

As a default, timers will not be executed as long as the presence simulation is active. Deleting this condition will result in executing the timers regardless of the presence simulation state.
If a preset is loaded for one single device, the state of the room does not change. E.g. you switch on a lamp with a timer, the next click to the push button in the room loads atmosphere 1, although a lamp is switched on already. This action does not switch off the lamp.

If shutters, blinds or awnings are moved by a timer, it is the user's responsibility to prevent the opening or closing from causing any damage.

Red marked activities in the dialogue cannot be edited with this version of the app. The originally defined activity will continue to be executed. If you want to edit this activity, delete the entry and create a new one.
