General

With the help of this digitalSTROM application, you can easily and quickly specify the behaviour of your motion detector. To do so, first configure the automation terminal blocks in use as the motion detector and assign them to the desired room. Then specify the desired behaviour for each room. Thereby you can select from predefined motion detector modes, e.g. to optimally control an outdoor lighting or the corridor. Optionally, the motion detector can also activate an alarm function with which you can additionally protect your home when you are away.

Basically, light preset 1 is switched on after a movement is detected and if there is no further movement, switched off again after the predefined time. When switching off, the light slowly dims down over 1 minute, so you are not suddenly sitting in the dark.

If several motion sensors are installed in one room, they are automatically combined and the light switches on when the first movement is recognized and switches off again when no motion sensor recognizes any further movement.

Preconditions

Before the motion detector can be configured, the automation terminal block (SW-AKM) is connected to the 230 V switching output of a conventional motion detector in accordance with the assembly instructions. It is recommended to set the switching off delay of the motion sensor to a minimum (e.g. 15 seconds), so the effective desired delay is then set in this app and can also be easily adapted again as needed.

Setup device properties

This setup aid supports installation and contains select properties of the Configurator. All devices which can either be configured as a motion detector (currently in app mode) or are already correspondingly set are listed in the device overview. In addition, the devices configured as twilight sensor are also listed, because these can be used to control the light.

Now select the desired device and then click on ‚Edit Device Properties’. The following settings can be made in the device properties:

Tip: If you see several unknown devices in the list and do not know the correct dSID, the function ‚Identify device’ under Hardware in the digitalSTROM Configurator can be used to identify and correspondingly name a triggering motion detector.

Setup motion detector mode

The tab 'Motion Detector Modes' contains a selection list of all rooms which have a motion detector and thereby can be controlled automatically. In the overview, the set mode with the settings for twilight mode, alarm mode and automatic switch off is visible for each room.

Using ‚Edit Settings’, the behaviour of the motion detector can be set easily. The following options are available:

If the desired settings have been made, they are saved and activated with ‚Save’.
