General

This digitalSTROM App allows you to control your Hue coloured lights easily and conveniently by means of digitalSTROM.

The lights can be integrated into lighting presets and thus controlled by push buttons or smartphone and server apps.

Requirements

  1. Your Hue lights are configured using the smartphone Hue app from Philips.
  2. The lights are detected automatically by an automatic search function when starting the app. The automatic search function requires an active Internet connection so that the lights can be found.
  3. The Hue lights must be assigned to a digitalSTROM room in the tab of the same name.

Functionality

The lighting presets of Hue lights can be integrated in the room using this app. For this purpose, the desired colour or colour temperature as well as brightness is defined per light.

Additionally, any activities that allow the lights to react according to a predefined setting can also be defined as a trigger.

The colour setting can either be set using the Hue app on the smartphone or tablet and recorded in the app or directly using the built-in colour selector.

'Room moods' tab

The desired settings for each light can be made here for the lighting presets per room.

Functions are available for creating, editing, testing and deleting the presets.

The appropriate default settings are made automatically for presets 1 - 4. These can be customised at any time as desired. Settings can also be added for the other presets. If a new preset is added, the room and mood is first selected and then the Hue light is set. The colour setting can either be made directly in dialogue or selected and recorded using the smartphone app.

If the 'Do not change output' function is used, individual lights are not changed and retain their previous setting when the preset is recalled.

The settings made with the selected colours are displayed clearly in the main view.

'Activities' tab

Any digitalSTROM activities can be selected as a trigger for recalling Hue settings.

Functions are available in this tab for creating, editing, deactivating, testing and deleting the activities.

Thus, a Hue light can flash when the doorbell is sounded or will switch on in the event of an alarm. All lights switch off automatically when leaving home. The standard response for activities such as leaving home, fire or panic is already stored in the app.

The settings are made in a dialogue as described under Presets.

'Hue Lights' tab

The lights are detected automatically when opening the app and listed in this tab. If the automatic search function does not detect the light , the IP address of the Hue Bridge can be configured manually.

All lights must be allocated here to a room so that they react to the corresponding presets.
