General
This
digitalSTROM application helps to activate e-mail notification. You
can define to send an e-mail if somebody rings the doorbell or if
the digitalSTROM panic button is pushed. During longer absence
periods (e.g. during holidays) you can set up notification and get
an e-mail when the light in the hallway is switched on.
Preconditions
The
digitalSTROM configuration needs the e-mail setting to use the
e-mail notification option.
You can set up the e-mail option as follows:
-
Switch to 'Advanced View' in the digitalSTROM
configurator
- 2.
Select the 'System' tab.
- 3.
Select the 'Mail Settings' menu.
- 4.
Fill in the fields according to the information of your e-mail
provider.
- 5.
Click on 'Send Testmail'.
- 6.
Check your mailbox and make sure you really received the test
e-mail.
- 7.
Save the settings with 'Apply'.
Overview of all notifications
In
this view all existing messages with their trigger and conditions
will be listed. In addition to the option of setting up and editing
messages, you can also activate and deactivate them one by one
without deleting the message completely from the system. The
function 'Test Message' will immediately send the message
for test purposes. Conditions will not be considered when
testing.
Setting up and editing messages
First
enter a name for your message.
Define the activity that should trigger the message in the
'trigger' tab. Various activities can serve as triggers:
-
Activitiy in Room: Load single or several presets in a defined
room
-
Push-button Action: Use switching commands of locally controlled
devices (e.g. cord dimmer locally on, locally off) or the clicks of
an app push-button. These switching commands influence the preset
in a room and will be analysed by a server app.
-
User Defined Actoins: Starting a user defined action via e.g. a
smartphone.
-
Consumption Event: Configured consumption events of adapters and
black terminal blocks L
-
Global activities Leaving Home, Coming Home, Bell and Panic.
Several activities (e.g. preset 1, 2 and 3) or clicks may also be
selected together for triggering the same message. By holding the
Ctrl-key on your keyboard you may select several presets at the
same time.
The
desired message is defined in the 'Message' tab..
Enter the addressee's e-mail into the receiver field. Enter a text
in the subject line that helps you to find and sort messages in
your mailbox. You may enter additional text in the body field.
The e-mail is a simple text message, therefore formatting is not
possible.
Sending messages might be restricted by conditions. For example, a
message might be sent during daytime only. The following conditions
can be defined:
-
Solar altitude
-
-
Day: send message between sunrise and sunset only
-
Night: send message between sunset and sunrise only
-
Bright: send message between dawn and dusk only
-
Dark: send message between dusk and dawn only
-
Daytime: define a time range in which the message is sent. This
allows the message being limited to a certain period of time.
-
Weekday: restricts sending the message to predefined days of the
week.
-
Presence: send the message either when you're absent or
present.
-
Presence simulation: send the message either if the presence
simulation is active or inactive.
-
Room state: the message is sent only if the defined preset is
active in a room.
Messages will be sent only if all defined conditions are met.
Conditions are optional.
The
settings on the message will be saved and activated by 'Save'.
Tips:
-
We recommend using a separate e-mail account for sending these
e-mails. This means that the e-mail is clearly assigned and the
sender is unique. You might use one of the numerous free providers,
e.g. Google mail.
-
Add your new address as a secure contact to your address book to
prevent the automatically generated e-mails from ending up in your
SPAM folder.
-
Every sent message will be stored in a communication protocol. This
can be viewed in the configurator's Advanced View under
System -> Logging -> Browse system log files -> dss
-> js -> event-mailer.log
