3 Installation : 3.2 Preparatory work

3.2 Preparatory work
Before you start the actual work:
Check if all digitalSTROM components required for the assembly are available.
Visually inspect all devices for damage. Replace damaged components and do not use them in the installation.
Follow the installation instructions for the individual digitalSTROM components. These instructions are shipped with the digitalSTROM component. They contain the required information and warnings for the correct use of digitalSTROM components.
Inform owners or occupants of the impending work. Let them know which sections of the domestic installations will be affected by the interruption of power and how long the interruption is expected to last.

Each digitalSTROM component has an 24-digit number.
The digitalSTROM identification number (dSID) is used for unique identification of the digitalSTROM components and is attached to the back of the housing. If necessary, please note the last 8 digits of the dSID and the location of the digitalSTROM components prior to installation.
You can use these notes to name the digitalSTROM devices according to their function and location directly in the digitalSTROM Configurator. To find devices easily even without noted identification numbers, you can make devices with output blink using the blink identification function. Devices with a connected push button or sensor can easily be identified and labelled via the function identify equipment. The digitalSTROM identification numbers as well as the entire configuration of the digitalSTROM system (room structure, device overview, outputs of the digitalSTROM components and push button assignment) can be documented using the dS Doku app.
